As the release date for “It Ends with Us” draws closer, excitement builds with the unveiling of a fresh trailer, once more highlighting the complicated romantic entanglements at the heart of the story.
This eagerly awaited film brings to life Colleen Hoover’s beloved 2016 romance novel under the direction of Justin Baldoni, who also acts in the film alongside stars Blake Lively and Brandon Sklenar.
The plot centers around Lily, a florist who has worked hard to move past her challenging upbringing. She embarks on a new relationship with a neurosurgeon, only to find herself troubled by similarities to her parents’ tumultuous relationship.
Audiences are now marking their calendars for Friday, August 9th, when “It Ends With Us” is slated to premiere in theaters.
This film has seen its share of delays, with initial plans to release it on February 9th bumped to June 21, before settling on the August date.
Although the adaptation was greenlit back in 2019, the cameras only started rolling in May 2023 in New Jersey. The shoot was interrupted by the writers’ strike that took place in June, with about half of the production wrapped up by that point. The filming crew picked up where they left off, resuming the shoot in January 2024.

Justin Baldoni Takes the Helm for “It Ends with Us”
Justin Baldoni is not only stepping in front of the camera for the anticipated adaptation of “It Ends with Us” but is also taking the creative lead as the film’s director. Known for stealing hearts as Rafael Solano on “Jane the Virgin,” Baldoni has a track record of deeply engaging storytelling through his directed films, such as “Five Feet Apart” and “Clouds.”

As their relationship deepens, shades of Lily’s past resurface, particularly in the form of Atlas Corrigan, her first and most pivotal love. Atlas’ resurgence casts a shadow over her present, throwing Lily’s life with Ryle into turmoil as she grapples with the ties of her past and the uncertainties of her future.
