Spring/Summer 2025 fashion week looks in New York was as always bright and energetic and this time the strongest trends designers showcased were the streetwear ones. Characteristic of maximalism as trend combined with unique visions, celebrities bright colors and loose forms signified a risk that this social season.
The highlights
Highlights were accessories where large sunglasses, small bags and massive jewelries characterized most of the ensembles. Incorporation of classic trends in fashion was evident the retro Adidas Samba sneaker which came along with high-street apparels. The versatile material often favoured in street wear, made its way into the jackets, skirts, and coats to essentially serve the purpose of protecting one from the Irish climate and still look effortlessly chic. Some of the hues for instance shifted from the traditional black to risky red and brown shades, leather pieces were restyled.
Wild animal prints, particularly leopard and zebra, dominated, with some fashionistas opting for head-to-toe ensembles or mixing prints for a daring look. Metallics, inspired by Beyoncé’s influence, transitioned from eveningwear to everyday street style, with sculptural pieces redefining the material’s role in fashion.
Eccentric infusions of futuristic, abstract designs pushed the boundaries of wearable art, while messy layers brought a curated chaos to the streets. Brown tones, traditionally reserved for fall, made a refreshing return after seasons of vibrant “dopamine dressing,” showcasing the hue’s versatility. Feathers and fur maintained their dramatic allure, seen in statement pieces like coats and accessories.

Other standout trends included girly bows, a playful adornment seen across garments and accessories, and vamped-up denim, which was creatively styled with plaid, unique cuts, and bold textures. Rosette embellishments, from bold designs to subtle accents, added a feminine touch to outfits.
Overall, NYFW Spring/Summer 2025 celebrated creativity, mixing tradition with innovation and transforming familiar fashion staples into something fresh and daring.
