Twitter Faces New Competition as Meta Prepares to Launch Instagram App “Threads” on 6th July

Meta Platforms is set to launch a new microblogging app called “Threads” rivalling popular social media platform, Twitter. The move comes just days after Twitter CEO, Elon Musk, faced criticism for announcing a temporary cap on the number of posts users can read.
Threads, Instagram’s text-based conversation app, is expected to launch on Thursday. Notably, users will have the ability to follow the same accounts they follow on Instagram and retain their existing username.

Amidst recent turmoil at its main competitor, Twitter, news of the upcoming launch of Threads has surfaced. In response to recent events, Twitter, which is owned by Elon Musk, implemented certain measures such as blocking unregistered users from viewing tweets and incorporating temporary rate limits for logged-in users, potentially resulting in users being blocked after reading a large number of posts in a single day. These changes led to widespread service disruptions over the weekend, leaving users unable to browse the platform.

Meanwhile, the introduction of Threads, the forthcoming microblogging app from Meta Platforms, brings a fresh and promising alternative to the social media landscape. Stay tuned as we continue to follow these developments and provide updates.
