Two subsidiary companies of Marsh McLennan – Marsh and Mercer – have come up tops in gender equality, by getting into the list of ‘The Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality 2024.’ It marks their dedication towards surmounting the barriers of gender inequality at the place of work. Mercer is on this list for the second time running, while Marsh leaves a trail as the first UK insurance broker to make the list.

What is the list?

The list under analysis, namely, Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality, initiated by the Business in the Community (BITC), aims at identifying organizations with gender equality integrated into their strategic development. The list recognizes the firms with strong action plan and measures including the pay gap, progression, and generally, policies on diversity.

Marsh and Mercer have taken many measures to fight gender imbalances. These include work flexibility, with provision for parental and maternity or paternity leaves, gender- sensitive wages and salaries, and promotion and progression opportunities.
