featuring the actress cast as Lady Deadpool, poised in character, ready to make her mark in the Deadpool & Wolverine movie.

The trailer for “Deadpool & Wolverine” unveiled a mysterious new figure, sparking the question, “Who could that be?” That figure was none other than Lady Deadpool.

With the current cinematic trend of exploring multiverses, the appearance of Lady Deadpool was a question of “when” rather than “if.” Yet, the identity of the actress donning the blonde locks and the iconic red and black mask remained a puzzle. Thanks to the movie’s end credits and a candid revelation on her Instagram, the mystery is solved: Blake Lively has stepped into the role.

The Backstory of Lady Deadpool from the Comics

Within the expansive Marvel Comics universe, Lady Deadpool stands as a character parallel to her more widely recognized counterpart. Armed with dual swords and renowned for her sharp wit and regenerative abilities, she emerges from the comics as Wanda Wilson of Earth-3010. In her storyline, she aligns herself with rebels fighting a totalitarian government during a civil conflict.

In 2010, Rob Liefeld, the creator of Deadpool, introduced the world to Lady Deadpool, drawing inspiration for her look from Blake Lively. Fast forward to 2022, Liefeld took to Instagram to share his and his wife’s fondness for watching Lively in “Gossip Girl.” He affectionately referred to Lively by her character’s name, Serena van der Woodsen, noting his admiration for her.

The Sparkling Chemistry of Reynolds and Lively On Screen

In the latest report from Yahoo Entertainment, Blake Lively’s role is not just a fleeting glimpse as Lady Deadpool; she plays a pivotal role throughout the film. Ryan Reynolds, who had a significant influence on the script, cleverly incorporated nods to his wife. Notably, Deadpool jests, “There are 206 bones in the human body—207 if I’m watching Gossip Girl,” setting a humorous tone before a combat scene.

Furthermore, Deadpool subtly references Lively’s fame from her television days in a jocular banter with Wolverine, cautioning, “Get your mind out of my pants, man, or I’m telling Blake.” In a blend of professional collaboration and personal connection, Reynolds also brought their daughter Inez on board, assigning her the role of Kidpool. Despite speaking from behind a mask, Inez’s lines contribute to the film’s engaging dialogue.
